Many scientific research since the 1970s has shown that polyunsaturated fatty acids Omega 3 is beneficial to cardiovascular and circulatory health. Recent research has also shown that it is beneficial to infant development(Willats P. et al, 1998), and neurological growth (Watson R. et al, 2014). Omega-3 is not naturally produced from the human body; it must be obtained from external sources, either through diet or supplement, such as fish, fish oil and seal oil. Health Canada recommends that each adult should take a total of 1.5 g of Omega-3 fatty acids daily in order to maintain good health (Health Canada, 2009), normal growth and development.

Why does human body needs Omega-3?

For humans, there are two essential fatty acids, omega-3 linolenic acid and omega-6 linoleic acid. Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids compete with each other to regulate almost all aspects of metabolism in order to maintain metabolic balance. The optimal ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 in the diet should be at least 4 to 1. In other words, for every 4 parts of omega-6, we need 1 part of omega-3. All common vegetable oils are overly rich in omega-6 except olive oil. The average ratio is more like 20 to 1, in favour of omega-6. Such a grossly lop-sided ratio is now considered a major unbalancing factor in the North American epidemic in cardiovascular problem, high cholesterol, high triglyceride etc. (Simoupolos AP, 2002)

Why is Jerry Super Harp Seal Omega-3 better than Fish Oil Omega-3?

1) Harp Seal Oil contains all three components of Omega-3: Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), Docosapentaenoic acid (DPA), Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and in the same proportions that are found naturally in the human body.

2) About a third of the long-chain Omega-3 fatty acids circulating in human blood are attributable to DPA. Seal oil can provide up to ten times the DPA than fish oils.

3) Fish oil is susceptible to oxidation whereas seal oil is more resistant to natural oxidative processes.

4) The absorption of seal oil into human is easier and more thorough than fish and fish oil. In seal oil, the Omega-3 fatty acids are in the -1 and -3 positions of the triglyceride molecule (same as humans) while in fish oil they are in the -2 position.

5) Seal oil is virtually free of cholesterol, while many fish and fish oils are relatively high in cholesterol.

6) The Omega-3 content of seal oil is 20%-25%, which is higher than most fish oils, making seal oil capsules a much more effective source of Omega-3 than fish itself.

DIRECTIONS: ADULTS AND CHILDREN TAKE TWO TO FOUR CAPSULES PER DAY OR AS DIRECTED BY A PHYSICIAN. STORAGE: KEEP TIGHTLY CLOSED, AWAY FROM HEAT AND MOISTURE AND OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
